An aquifer is an underground formation of rock, sand, or gravel that holds a large amount of water. But how do aquifers work, and how do we get water out of them?

Go to the following Web pages for two recipes—one for an "edible aquifer" and the other for an "edible earth parfait." Who said science isn't fun?
